Abstract (English): Objective: Report our experience using the protocol established by Martonoli et al., describing the ultrasound findings in patients diagnosed with hemophilic arthropathy at the General Ignacio Zaragoza Regional Hospital, highlighting the role of the radiology and imaging department. Method: Prospective, descriptive and cross-sectional study, using a linear transducer from 8 to 12 MHz, evaluating the joints at any clinical moment, of elbows, knees and ankles bilaterally, through the use of the standardized HEAD-US protocol, developed by Martinoli et al. using an additive scale that includes indicators of disease activity (hypertrophic synovium) and structural osteochondral damage (articular cartilage and subchondral bone). Results: Thirteen patients were evaluated, 26 elbows, 26 knees and 26 ankles, all male patients. We found the right ankle as the most frequent target joint, the disease activity (synovitis) is more prevalent in the left knee and the most prevalent osteochondral cartilage damage is in the right elbow. Conclusion: The evaluation of the joints through this HEAD-US protocol is a useful, accessible and brief tool in the evaluation of patients with hemophilic arthropathy with a duration of 12 minutes, so it could be used for joint assessment.
