Abstract (English): Cochlear implants (CI) are devices that make possible the recovery of hearing in individuals suffering from sensorial or any other type of deafness originated in the auditory receptor organ. They play the role of ciliated cells. However, as cochlear prostheses use electrical stimuli, the study of the auditory response of deaf individuals to this kind of stimuli is necessary. On the other hand, it is important to study the effect of those degenerative changes on the characteristics of the auditory response, due to the degeneration of the auditory way that only appears by the onset of deafness. Our aim was to be able of counting on a simple tool to make possible the performance of research on stimulation patterns. We needed to have an electrical stimulator with the potential needed to generate auditory responses for finding the optimal stimulation model. As a prototype, a single-channel bipolar stimulator was designed and mounted on a test plate, so the result could be obtained in the shortest period of time to avoid delays in the design and building of printed circuits. Abstract (Spanish): Los implantes cocleares (IC) son dispositivos que permiten la recuperación de la audición en individuos que padecen de sordera sensorial u otro tipo de sordera que tenga su origen en el órgano receptor auditivo, ya que sustituyen el papel desempeñado por las células ciliadas. Sin embargo, el hecho de que las prótesis cocleares utilicen estímulos eléctricos, hace necesario el estudio de la respuesta auditiva de individuos sordos a este tipo de estimulación. Por otra parte, debido a la degeneración de la vía auditiva que tiene lugar por la aparición de la sordera, es importante estudiar el efecto de estos cambios degenerativos sobre las características de la respuesta auditiva. El objetivo de este equipo es contar con una herramienta sencilla que permitiera desarrollar las investigaciones acerca de patrones de estimulación. Era necesario disponer de un estimulador eléctrico con las potencialidades necesarias para generar respuestas auditivas que ayudaran a encontrar el modelo de estimulación óptimo. Se diseñó un estimulador bipolar de un solo canal a modo de prototipo y se montó sobre una placa de prueba, con lo que se pudo obtener el resultado en el menor tiempo posible, evitando demoras diseño y construcción de circuitos impresos.
