Abstract (English): In the following deliveries of the magazine we are going to treat the subject of care to terminally ill. Just as important as the attention at birth, and the right to live, must be the attention to die and the right to die with dignity. Despite the fact that the importance of the death is evident in the course of the history, because we can see how has led the most diverse systems of beliefs and practices magical-religious, in an attempt of mankind to understand and manage this inevitable reality of human nature, the problem of the sick next to death has been ignored and its attention postponed; this has to do with the presence of the death, which in our modern society marks the "end" of the values in it are highlighted: the youth and beauty, consumerism, power, competitiveness. Fortunately, with the foundation in 1967, the St. Christopher's Hospice in London, by Cicely Saunders, marks the start of the modern Hospice movement, and with it, the specialized attention to the terminally ill. Even though there are very ancient references to institutions dedicated to the care of dying, were the drivers of the movement Hospice the first to show that the technological medicine not responded appropriately to the needs of the sick confronted with the last phase of life. The movement of palliative care has had the merit of recall that the patient is a person and the dying a seint being. A tool to know and understand the individual at this stage of his life or at this stage of the disease. It is important to define what are palliative care and what are the criteria of terminal illness, to establish the framework of action and the type of patient towards which is addressed this attention. The Palliative Medicine make emphasis on the physical care, but without leaving aside the spiritual care and to meet the needs psychological and social the terminally ill, so it will discuss these aspects to over the chapters that will be trying in successive numbers of the magazine. Also in the chapter on control of symptoms, they will mention on the complementary therapies that are demonstrating its usefulness in terminally ill. The purpose of this document is to provide some basic lines, overall performance in palliative care, integrating the conventional medicine and complementary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
