Abstract (English): Objective: To determine the basic sanitation diagnosis in the district of Imperial, province of Cañete, in the period between June 2005 and June 2006. Material and method: The study is an investigation of epidemiologist, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective type. Population: Environmental Unity: Municipality of Imperial. Instruments: Monthly Report of SAAM, basket of Indicators PNUMA-GEO and interviews with the actors. Results: The PEIR matrix was applied (pressure, state, impact, result). The disposition of water for human consumption is directed towards the goal but has aspects to develop and to improve in relation to the indicators of state and impact. The disposition of excretes through the sewage system network is still incipient, is in process of directed development to control the pressure gauges. The disposition of solid remainders in Imperial is an activity that is expanding but must be regularized better, in order to control the impact and pressure gauges. Conclusions: The points obtained in the application of the indicators of environmental sustainability gives some positive results but still insufficient development to reach goals of basic cleanup in the district of Imperial for the period 2005-05, what gives rise to the rejection of the raised hypothesis.
