Abstract (English): The present paper reviews of those plants traditionally used as ethnomedicinal remedies against the snakebites; considering the chemical nature of the secondary metabolites involved and the pharmacological potential of such alexiteric plants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): En el presente trabajo se realiza una revisión de aquellos vegetales utilizados tradicionalmente, como remedios etnomedicinales, frente a las picaduras de serpientes venenosas; considerando la naturaleza química de los metabolitos secundarios implicados y la potencialidad farmacológica de dichas plantas alexitéricas.
