Abstract (English): Tobacco industry generates annually great amounts of solid residues. Despite different uses of public domain not always residues are properly eliminated in order to avoid environmental, animal, vegetal or human contamination as consequences of its chemical composition. With the intention of avoid mainly environmental contamination, in face of climate change, different potential uses of tobacco solid residues, some of them derived of our research activity in non conventional uses projects, are compiled in this work. Boards were produced according Cuervo modification of the conventional methodology used for sugar cane multiparticle boards. Solid Cigar factory residues (dust and others) were used to produce extract with aromatic accentuated properties for cigarettes manufacture, also for reconstituted cigarette blend production, as well as for enzymes production with different applications. Diverse solid residues uses are reported such as: alimentary uses, construction and decoration uses, biological and biochemical uses, plagues control uses, industrial uses, cosmetic uses and medical uses. Although the general scrutiny around tobacco crop, it is possible to foresee current and future beneficial applications to achieve cleaner and environmental friendly productions. Abstract (Spanish): La industria tabacalera genera anualmente grandes cantidades de residuos sólidos. A pesar de los diferentes usos de dominio público, no siempre los residuos son adecuadamente eliminados para evitar la contaminación ambiental, animal, vegetal o humana como consecuencia de su composición química. Con la intención de evitar principalmente la contaminación ambiental, ante el cambio climático, diferentes usos potenciales de los residuos sólidos del tabaco, algunos de ellos derivados de nuestras investigaciones en proyectos de usos no convencionales del cultivo se informan en este trabajo. Se produjeron tableros de acuerdo a la modificación descrita por Cuervo y cols de la metodología convencional usada para producir los tableros de caña de azúcar. Los residuos sólidos de las fábricas de cigarrillos rubios (polvo y venas) se utilizaron para producir un extracto con propiedades aromáticas acentuadas para su uso en la manufactura de cigarrillos rubios, asimismo estos residuos unidos a los residuos sólidos de las fábricas de tabaco se utilizaron para la producción de las ligadas de cigarrillos con tabaco reconstituido, así como para la producción de enzimas con diferentes aplicaciones. Diversos usos de estos residuos se informan tales como alimenticios, para la construcción y decoración, usos biológicos y bioquímicas, control de plagas, industriales, cosméticos y médicos. A pesar del escrutinio general acerca del cultivo del tabaco es posible prever aplicaciones beneficiosas actuales y futuras para alcanzar producciones limpias y amigables con el medio ambiente.
