Abstract: HAVE US subprime loan-holders been dazzled by Goldman's PR machine? The Wall Street Journal went to talk to Mr. Booket, a 44-year-old heating repairman who owed $300,000 on his threebedroom home and was selected to be part of the pool of mortgages grouped together in the Goldman/ Paulson CDO. When Booket was hit by a car, he couldn't work and his lender forelclosed, helping hedge fund boss John Paulson rake it in. But asked what he thought of Paulson, Booket, who is soon to be homeless, said: "The man came up with a scheme to get rich, and he did it. So more power to him." [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
