Abstract: A scheme to import Asian watches outside normal distribution channels has cost a Toronto distributor and his company $170,000 in fines for misleading advertising. Judge John Kerr of the Ontario Court, provincial division, fined John Bell $20,000 and Tormont Global Time Corp. $150,000 after each pleaded guilty in court last week to one count of misleading advertising under the federal Competition Act.
