Abstract: THIN AND intense, Gladys Hoskins sits at her kitchen table and says she wants to set the record straight: "Mervyn loved mining. He wasn't the kind of man looking for a handout. He needed help." Mervyn Hoskins died last April at the age of 40 from sarcoidosis, a rare lung disease.
