All day she tries to reach a friend in London, hoping to hear news that will bring a new direction to her life.Jo Salas grew up in New Zealand and now lives in upstate New York. Her short fiction has been published in literary journals and anthologies. Her story “After,” in the anthology Facing the Change: Personal Encounters with Global Warming was nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and other short stories have won or been shortlisted for awards. Jo Salas's nonfiction publications include Improvising Real Life: Personal Story in Playback Theatre, now in a twentieth-anniversary edition and published in seven translations.
