Description: Laboratory skill development is one of the most important aspects of any Engineering Curriculum. For performing experiments the students need to come prepared in the laboratory class and work in small groups independently. To be able to come prepared, and to utilize the time available effectively, the students require the relevant study material. This laboratory manual provides all the required theoretical inputs for performing an experiment. For each experiment, an instruction sheet has been prepared which includes the objectives of the experiment, the related circuit diagram, the equipment, the instruments and accessories required, the theory in brief, the procedure, the observations to be made, the calculations to be made, the graphs to be drawn, the conclusions to be arrived at, etc. A set of questions directly related to the experiment is also included in each instruction sheet for the students to answer. This manual also has included the assessment procedure of students for their laboratory work. The content of this manual has been developed by consulting the list of experiments in Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering of all the Indian Universities. Using this manual as a guide, the component skills that are to be developed through the laboratory experimentation include reading and interpreting a given circuit, modifying the given circuit according to the available experimental set-up, selecting the type, range and rating of instruments and accessories required, making connections according to the circuit, taking readings and recording them, using criterion for accepting or rejecting a particular data, analyzing data and interpreting results, presenting results in graphical and other forms, drawing conclusions, comparing outcome with the stated objectives, etc..
