It presents different models for obtaining the effective material properties of nanocomposite structures such as Mori-Tanaka, mixture, micro-electro-mechanical and Halpin-Tsai. In addition, the basic equations for smart materials are introduced, while the governing equations for various examples are derived on the basis of the energy method and Hamilton's principle.
