Additionally, the book introduces the utilization of GIS technology to detect the effect of natural hazards (such as, floods) on land resources and human lives. Land degradation is also a huge threat to land resources, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, and can be detected and monitored using different geo-informatics tools. Furthermore, the book introduces semi-automatic methods combined with multivariate techniques for landscape management. Finally, the required soil property assessment can be achieved using traditional laboratory approaches and includes preliminary state-of-the-art proximal sensors. |
