| Abstract: |
The article focuses on the role of insulin secretory granules in controlling macroautophagy in pancreatic beta cells. It states that starvation resulted in the suppression of macroautophagy in pancreatic beta cells and instead induced lysosomal degradation of protein kinase D-controlled nascent secretory insulin granules. It commented on the role of insulin granule degradation in keeping secretion of insulin low during fasting. |
