Abstract: The article examines nonequilibrium magnetization dynamics in two-dimensional systems by loading bosons into a spin-dependent optical lattice. It states the lattice is used to control resonance conditions for superexchange and tunneling. It comments that relaxation dynamics were observed to be governed by two well-separated rates that scaled with parameters associated with tunneling and superexchange. It suggests the experiment will work as a benchmark on future theoretical work.
