| Abstract (English): | This article describes the conceptualisation and treatment, based on Wells' metacognitive model (2012), of a case of generalised anxiety disorder in a young woman of 18 years of age. The intervention comprised the Socratic dialogue, re-attribution, behavioural experiments and the Detached Mindfulness technique. The article also emphasises the most distinctive aspects of the therapeutic relationship. At the end of the treatment, the patient reported a remission of symptoms with major improvements and clear changes in metacognitive processing. The results were maintained at three and six months after the end of treatment and confirm the effectiveness of metacognitive therapy for generalised anxiety disorder. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Italian): | L'articolo descrive la concettualizzazione e il trattamento, secondo il modello Metacognitivo di Wells (2012), di un caso di disturbo d'ansia generalizzata, in una giovane donna di 18 anni. L'intervento si è avvalso del dialogo socratico, di tecniche di riattribuzione verbale, di esperimenti comportamentali e tecniche della Detached Mindfulness. Nell'articolo vengono inoltre sottolineati gli aspetti più peculiari della relazione terapeutica. Al termine del trattamento, la paziente ha riportato una remissione della sintomatologia con importanti miglioramenti e ha appreso nuovi processi di elaborazione metacognitivi. I risultati appaiono mantenuti anche a 3 e a 6 mesi di distanza dalla conclusione dell'intervento e confermano l'efficacia della terapia metacognitiva nel trattamento del disturbo d'ansia generalizzata.
