| Abstract: | The article discusses the American police's use of what is referred to as predictive policing in crime forecasting and crime prevention, including the role that algorithms and big data play in this regard. An overview of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Police Department's use of predictive policing to reduce crime is provided. Pittsburgh Police Chief Cameron McLay's efforts to improve the police's relations with minorities is discussed. |
