| Abstract: | The article responds to the findings of Lee Epstein and Andrew D. Martin in their study on the influence of age on judicial decision making in age discrimination cases in the U.S. According to the authors, the study of Epstein and Martin focuses on the operationalization of their age-cohort variable and issues related to theoretical and methodological concerns associated with the pitfalls in grouping data. Moreover, in 15 of the 23 cohorts tested, the authors of the study include among "young" judges those who were at the same age as or older than the mean age of appointment. |
