Abstract: In this article, the author discusses on awakening experience he feels has been neglected by psychology. Topics discussed include the role of positive psychology that has brought an emphasis on positive human experiences; how a significant number of awakening experiences are related to states of relaxation and mental quietness; and reports of awakening experiences which reveals causes of awakening experience such as puzzling, contact with nature and spiritual practice.
