Abstract: A summary is presented of an article published online at http://dx.doi.org/10.1126/science.2236 concerning confirmation by the Cassini space probe of charged ring material entering Saturn's atmosphere along the planetary magnetic field. It states Cassini's Magnetospheric Imaging Instrument, Cassini Dust Analyzer, and the Radio and Plasma Wave Science Instrument recorded dust in the upper atmosphere. It talks about how the ring material would alter Saturn's ionospheric and atmospheric chemistry.
