Abstract: This article presents a summary of a research study published on the topic of whole-body regeneration in organisms. The authors comment on the role of wound signaling, stem cells, and positional identity in tissue regeneration and examine the relationship between genetics and regulatory regions of the body. The study looked at the genome of the acoel Hofstenia miamia, also known as the three-banded panther worm.
