| Abstract (English): | The article describes the conceptualisation and treatment, according to the cognitive model of Clark and Wells, (1995) in a case of social phobia, based on the self-regulation model of emotional vulnerability by Wells and Matthews (1994). The intervention took advantage of a psycho-educational phase, verbal re-attribution techniques, behavioural experiments, techniques to increase cognitive decentralisation and finally training in assertiveness and self-esteem. The article also highlights the most peculiar aspects of the therapeutic relationship. At the end of the treatment, the patient reported remission of symptoms with significant improvements. The results were also maintained at three and six months after the end of the intervention and confirm the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioural therapy in the treatment of social phobia. | Abstract (Italian): | L'articolo descrive la concettualizzazione e il trattamento, secondo il modello cognitivo di Clark e Wells (1995), di un caso di Fobia Sociale basato sul modello di autoregolazione della vulnerabilità emozionale di Wells e Matthews (1994). L'intervento si è avvalso di una fase di psico-educazione, di tecniche di riattribuzione verbale, esperimenti comportamentali, tecniche per aumentare il decentramento cognitivo e infine un training di assertività e autostima. Inoltre nell'articolo vengono sottolineati gli aspetti più peculiari della relazione terapeutica. Al termine del trattamento, il paziente ha riportato una remissione della sintomatologia con importanti miglioramenti. I risultati sono mantenuti anche a tre e a sei mesi di distanza dalla conclusione dell'intervento e confermano l'efficacia della terapia cognitiva-comportamentale nel trattamento della Fobia Sociale.
