Abstract (English): This article deals with the relationship between Bioethics and Technology. A study will be made of the ethical position of theology on advances in biotechnology, based on the notion that, from the perspective of Christian orthodox thinking, transient happiness cannot overlap with eternal happiness. For some religious, the intervention of science in human nature may be the reason for the breakdown of the relationship between man a5nd God. However, it is important to emphasize that the technical-scientific advance has brought to humanity conditions to know, study, analyze, overcome or limit most existing diseases. Abstract (Portuguese): O presente artigo trata da relação entre a Bioética e a Tecnologia. Será feito um estudo sobre o posicionamento ético da teologia sobre os avanços na área da biotecnologia, tendo como base a noção de que, na perspectiva do pensamento ortodoxo cristão, a felicidade transitória não pode se sobrepor a felicidade eterna. Para alguns religiosos, a intervenção da ciência na natureza humana pode ser o motivo de quebra do relacionamento entre o homem e Deus. Entretanto, é importante ressaltar que, o avanço técnico-científico tem trazido para a humanidade, condições de conhecer, estudar, analisar, vencer ou limitar a maioria das doenças existentes.
