Abstract: The authors address the Opioid Industry Documents Archive (OIDA) designed to maximize the generation of fundamental new knowledge regarding the opioid overdose epidemic that can inform policies and practice changes to prevent future harms. Topcis discussed include factors that have contributed to the opioid epidemic, brief background of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Industry Documents Library (IDL), and what OIDA contain.
