| Abstract (English): | The validity of the Theory of Social Representations (TSR), as a contributing field within social psychology, has not been exempt from constant debate on the epistemological foundations that sustain it. This article answers the question: Where is the theory of social representations going? taking three critical aspects as a reference: retraction, slowdown and the possibilities offered by the TSR. It is concluded that beyond the debate on the epistemological statute, the TSR moves between the conformist tendency to repeat the old models proposed by its founders and the richness of the themes, methodological routes and diversity of interdisciplinary work that the TSR offers from the problematic of Latin America, and particularly Colombia. | Abstract (Spanish): | La vigencia de la Teoría de las representaciones sociales (TRS), como un campo aportante al interior de la psicología social, no ha estado exenta de un constante debate sobre los fundamentos epistemológicos que la sostienen. Este artículo responde a la pregunta ¿Hacia dónde va la teoría de las representaciones sociales? Tomando como referencia tres aspectos críticos: la retracción, la ralentización y las posibilidades que ofrece la TRS. Se concluye que mas allá del debate sobre el estatuto epistemológico, la TRS se mueve entre la tendencia conformista de repetir los viejos modelos propuestos por sus fundadores y la riqueza de los temas, rutas metodológicas y diversidad de trabajo interdisciplinar que ofrece la TRS desde las problemáticas de Latinoamérica, y particularmente Colombia. Este artigo responde à pergunta: Para onde vai a teoria das representações sociais? Tomando como referência três aspectos críticos: a retração, a desaceleração e as possibilidades oferecidas pelo TRS. Conclui-se que para além do debate sobre o estatuto epistemológico, o TRS transita entre a tendência conformista de repetir os antigos modelos propostos por seus fundadores e a riqueza de temas, percursos metodológicos e diversidade de trabalho interdisciplinar que o TRS oferece a partir da problemática da América Latina e, em particular, a Colômbia.
