| Abstract (English): | In the study of the use of the Old Testament in the New Testament, which has gained significant space in the theological scene in recent years, it's possible to realize that the Old Testament was the main source of theological content for the writers of the New Testament. This attitude raised several questions about how they interacted with Old Testament and how they interpreted certain portions of its content. Taking this into account, this article aims to analyze the different facets of Isaiah 7.14 in Matthew 1.23. The initial analysis seeks to identify how the New Testament quotes the Old Testament passage. This first approach will be guided and conceptualized by intertextuality, as suggested by Beale (2013). The main method used in the general research framework will have as its main proponent, G. K. Beale (2014). The exegetical method employed in the course of the research, on the other hand, combined the considerations of Stuart and Fee (2008) and those of G. K. Beale (2013) in their respective manuals. | Abstract (Portuguese): | No estudo a respeito do uso do Antigo Testamento no Novo Testamento, o qual tem ganhado cada vez mais espaço no cenário teológico atual, percebe-se que a principal fonte de informação utilizada pelos escritores neotestamentários foi o conteúdo veterotestamentário. Essa atitude trouxe à tona diversas questões sobre o modo como eles interagiram com os escritores veterotestamentários e, de que forma, interpretaram certas porções do seu conteúdo. Levando-se isso em consideração, o presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar os diversos aspectos que estão presentes no uso que Mateus 1.23 faz de Isaías 7.14. Para tanto, a análise inicial consiste em identificar de que forma a passagem do Novo Testamento cita a passagem do Antigo Testamento. Esta primeira abordagem será direcionada e conceitualizada pela intertextualidade, conforme aventada por Beale (2013). O método hermenêutico empregado no arcabouço geral da pesquisa terá como seu principal proponente, G. K. Beale (2014). Já o método exegético presente no decorrer da pesquisa se valerá de uma mescla entre as considerações de Stuart e Fee (2008) e as de G. K. Beale (2013) em seus respectivos manuais.
