Abstract: The article discusses the use of entrustment in learner assessment and framework via entrustment-supervision (ES) scales in 2023. Topics covered include the synthesis of ES ratings in medical residency to show why averaging has important interpretation and use implications, and the use of a dashboard display to align data with the ordinal nature of ES scales. Also noted is the display's better support of summative decision making on the level of supervision than averages.
