Title: Narrowing of minds.
Authors: Pointon, Clare
Source: CPJ: Counselling & Psychotherapy Journal. Apr2005, Vol. 16 Issue 3, p5-7. 3p. 1 Cartoon or Caricature.
Subjects: Phillips, Adam, Going Sane: Maps of Happiness (Book), Ethics, Research, Books & reading
Abstract: This article presents an interview with Adam Phillips, author of the book, "Going Sane." Describing the book, Phillips said that it was written because it seemed to him striking that madness has been researched, explored and considered in a way that sanity hasn't been. And that made him wonder what it might be about sanity that was so difficult to describe and think about. It also seemed to him significant that, if people think of sanity as some kind of moral ideal for themselves, they have to incorporate what they call madness into their evaluating.
