| Abstract (English): | Interpreting situations with a biased view as potentially hostile can facilitate aggression. Research suggests that biased interpretations occur automatically and implicitly. This study aims to determine whether executive function training reduces implicit hostile attributions. Executive functions describe processes associated with control, planning, and allocation of attentional resources to perform goaldirected actions. A sample of ninety-eight college students was randomly assigned to two groups exposed to modified versions of the Implicit Association Test (IAT) to assess levels of automatic hostile attributions. The experimental group underwent Stroop Task training, while the control group was exposed to a neutral task. Although the results did not confirm the working hypothesis, they demonstrate that the IAT can be effectively adapted to measure implicit aggressive attitudes. Overall, this methodology can contribute to elucidating the influence of social factors versus cognitive factors in the generation of violence. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
