| Abstract (English): |
The objective of this article is to describe the meanings of family held by nine childless heterosexual couples in the Aburrá Valley (Colombia). From a hermeneutic approach, a detailed analysis is made of the different discourses of the participants obtained from the implementation of a semi-structured interview, which were documented within a categorical matrix. The main conclusion is that for these couples the meaning of family may vary according to the values attributed to it, the acceptance or rupture of hegemonic traditions about the family and the aspects considered as influences of this conception, such as, for example, religion, economy, environment, formal education, among others. Este artículo tiene como objetivo describir los significados de familia que tienen nueve parejas heterosexuales sin hijos en el Valle de Aburrá (Colombia). Desde un enfoque hermenéutico, se hace un análisis detallado de los diferentes discursos de los participantes obtenidos a partir de la implementación de una entrevista semiestructurada, los cuales fueron documentados dentro de una matriz categorial. Como principal conclusión se encuentra que para estas parejas el significado de familia puede variar según los valores atribuidos a esta, la aceptación o ruptura de tradiciones hegemónicas sobre la familia y los aspectos considerados como influencias de dicha concepción, como, por ejemplo, la religión, la economía, el medioambiente, la educación formal, entre otros.
