Abstract (English): In recent years, circadian preference has been identified as a factor influencing conditions like mood disorders, eating habits, and addictions. Its association with non-clinical characteristics such as personality traits, intelligence, and academic performance has also been explored. A systematic search was conducted to review evidence on the relationship between academic performance, chronotype, and sleep-wake cycle in university students from 2012 to 2022. Sixty-two records were identified in databases such as Science Direct, Dialnet, SciELO, MEDLINE, and Web of Science, with 22 meeting the inclusion criteria. Analyses revealed significant correlations between academic performance and poor sleep habits, as well as wake-up and sleep times. Results are discussed in relation to existing literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
