Abstract: Using an intersectionality lens, the purpose of this article is to provide representation as an arisen theme in a grounded theory study of the process of professional identity development of Black doctoral students in counselor education. There is a nascent body of literature detailing diversity and, specifically, racial representation related to its impact in counselor education. This study confirms promoting inclusive excellence remains an essential goal within counselor education to further mirror society at large. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
