Abstract: Treating pathological narcissism is a very complex and challenging process, whose main ingredients the author tries to formulate and present in this paper. Not only theoretical pluralism, but also an interdisciplinary orientation are necessary ingredients of such a work, together with what Joseph Sandler called a good "private theory," and an individualized therapeutic approach, as Gabbard and Crisp recommend. The author's treatment concept is exemplified in the light of the long-term treatment of and a session with a patient. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
