Abstract (English): The article reflects on the importance of psychoanalysis, especially the relational and intersubjective currents, for family and couple therapists. The author shares her personal experience in approaching these currents through her training at the Latin American Institute of Mental Health and Human Rights, highlighting how concepts from psychoanalysis can enrich therapeutic practice. The relevance of the therapeutic relationship and intersubjectivity in the healing process is emphasized, as well as the understanding of trauma and its transgenerational transmission. Abstract (Spanish): El artículo reflexiona sobre la importancia del psicoanálisis, especialmente las corrientes relacional e intersubjetiva, para terapeutas familiares y de pareja. La autora comparte su experiencia personal al acercarse a estas corrientes a través de su formación en el Instituto Latinoamericano de Salud Mental y Derechos Humanos, destacando cómo conceptos de psicoanálisis pueden enriquecer la práctica terapéutica. Se enfatiza la relevancia de la relación terapéutica y la intersubjetividad en el proceso de sanación, así como la comprensión del trauma y su transmisión transgeneracional.
