| Abstract (English): | ICTs offer benefits but also pose risks such as cyberbullying, which is common among adolescents and young adults. The objectives of this study were to determine the prevalence of cyberbullying among South Colombian university students, to identify the implications of gender, socioeconomic status, academic program, time of use, and type of app in relation to this phenomenon, and to analyze the psychometric properties of the ECIPQ questionnaire among university students. This is an empiricalanalytical, descriptive, and instrumental study. A representative sample of 861 university students was developed (M = 22.54; SD = 4.03; 60.4% women). The results showed an overall prevalence of 16.9%; men participated more frequently as both aggressors and victims. Two out of every ten university students are involved. In conclusion, it is necessary to implement prevention and intervention policies in the university context. Additionally, this study provides relevant information to the theoretical body of knowledge on cyberbullying among university students, a scarcely studied population in Colombia. Finally, the ECIPQ shows optimal validity and reliability properties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
