| Abstract (English): | Incest between siblings is more common than what it is commonly thought. There are authors who believe that it is the most frequent type of sexual abuse. Being the relationship between siblings so intense and prolonged in time, the consequences of incest are numerous and cause damage, both in the physical, psychological and family spheres. There is a fundamental difference if the incest occurs between siblings close in age to when it occurs between a much older and a much younger sibling. If the age difference is small and the relationship has been consensual, we might think that it has not been abusive, but, nonetheless, it is harmful. Not only is individual therapy important for each child involved, but also family therapy that makes it possible to identify how it occurred, what maintained it and how to repair the family fabric. There is a legal responsibility for health professionals to report abuse. Each case must be assessed considering their special particularities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
