Abstract: Myxoma is a locally invasive tumor that typically affects the jawbones. Although it is rare in the general population, it occurs with excessive frequency among young female patients in the second and fourth decades. The tumor typically occurs in the posterior mandible and accounts for approximately 3%–6% of all odontogenic tumors. We present a rare case of fibromyxoma in a 25-year-old female involving the soft tissue of the face. Clinical, radiological, histopathologic, and immunohistochemical investigation play an important role in the accurate diagnosis of fibromyxoma. Our patient presented with painless swelling over the cheek, which was insidious in onset and progressively increasing in size. A well-encapsulated ovoid mass is seen in the left cheek involving the Levator labii muscle. It measured 12mm X 8 mm, excised and diagnosed as a fibromyxoma. The unusual features of this case are the site of tumor, which was localized to the nontoothbearing areas of the maxillary region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
