Abstract: This article focuses on mental health challenges and care approaches for refugees and forced migrants, highlighting trauma, resilience, and adaptation across diverse contexts. It presents studies documenting high rates of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder among displaced populations, alongside significant barriers to accessing psychological help, including stigma, cultural factors, and structural obstacles. The research emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive, community-based interventions, the critical role of interpreters as cultural mediators, and the value of peer-led support groups. Additionally, it underscores that effective mental health care depends largely on the quality of the therapeutic alliance and flexibility in addressing patients’ cultural and subjective experiences, rather than solely on specific psychotherapeutic techniques.
