| Abstract: | This article focuses on the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists' (RANZCP) Psychiatry Interest Forum (PIF) and its 2025 essay competition aimed at medical students and junior doctors interested in psychiatry. The competition invited entries on the theme "Seeing the whole person beyond the diagnosis," with separate contests for Australian and New Zealand members. Winners included Mr. Allan Joseph, a third-year medical student from the University of Western Australia, and Miss Sudikshya Parajuli, a fourth-year medical student from the University of Auckland, both emphasizing holistic, patient-centered care in their essays. The competition received 71 high-quality submissions and awarded cash prizes to the top three essays in each country. The winning essays and other top entries are available on the RANZCP website.
