Abstract: There are many psychosensory portals to remembering, but nothing takes us back like a song. Music takes us especially back to the era of adolescence, when we need it most, when our physical life depends on it (and the musicians who make it) to give form to the otherwise traumatic voltage of the sexual, and when our musical sensibility (like our sexuality, as our sexuality) tends to consolidate and, in some sense, never change again. By timestamping this era of our psychosexual becoming, music paradoxically helps us to forget, freeing us up for new life to remember, and fresh music to help us remember it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
