Abstract (English): The objective of this study was to validate the Brújula test, designed to assess vocational interests in Colombian schoolchildren. Three phases were carried out: a pilot phase (n1 = 149) in which reliability was analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega; a convergent validity phase conducted in a second sample (n2 = 46) using the Self-Directed Search (SDS); and a construct validity phase using confirmatory factor analysis with subsamples drawn from a database (n3 = 13 739). Results demonstrated adequate reliability coefficients across all domains. Significant correlations were found between the Brújula and the SDS. Unifactorial structures were confirmed with excellent goodness-of-fit indices. Among the n3 sample, 50.4% of students presented a well-defined profile consistent with the domain self-reported prior to taking the test, 24.5% presented a well-defined profile that did not match the self-reported domain, and 25.15% presented an undefined profile.
