| Abstract: | Introduction: Dental bleaching, a widely used clinical procedure, is associated with enamel demineralization and reduced microhardness. Enamel remineralizing pastes are therefore advocated to counteract this effect. The proliferation of diverse commercial remineralizing products underscores the necessity for empirical evaluation of their efficacy. Accordingly, the present in vitro study was conducted to assess and compare the influence of selected commercially available remineralizing agents on the microhardness of bleached enamel. Materials and Methods: In this in vitro experimental study, 39 specimens were obtained from the buccal or lingual surfaces of posterior teeth. The specimens were mounted on acrylic blocks and randomly allocated to three test groups: Group I (GC Tooth Mousse), Group II (Remin-Pro), and Group III (Clinpro). Baseline microhardness measurements were recorded for all specimens using a Vickers microhardness tester. Subsequently, the specimens underwent a standardized bleaching procedure, after which postbleaching microhardness values were determined. Remineralizing agents were then applied according to group assignment, followed by final microhardness assessments. Data were compiled, tabulated, and subjected to statistical analysis using repeated measures ANOVA and paired t -tests, with significance set at P < 0.05. Results: Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software (Version 20, SPSS, IBM, Armonk, NY, USA). Postremineralization microhardness significantly increased compared to postbleaching values across all groups. The casein phosphopeptide–amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) experimental group demonstrated the highest postremineralization microhardness, with statistically significant difference compared to other groups. Conclusion: CPP-ACP exhibited significantly higher recovery of enamel microhardness when compared to Remin-Pro and Clinpro. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
