| Abstract: | The article focuses on issues related to higher education in Europe. In universities all over the continent, one can see the mixture of modernity and tradition. In 1999, an agreement was signed by universities and departments of education in 45 European countries for the creation of the European Higher Education Area by 2010. The major feature of the agreement is the proposal to the adoption of a system of three-tiered degree in all universities in Europe. However, the agreement cannot be enforced by law. |
