| Abstract: | The article focuses on the study which aims to evaluate the drug Taractan in the treatment of chronic schizophrenia. Accordingly, Taractan is claimed to have neuroleptic and tranquillizing properties as well as thymoleptic activity. To test, 63 female chronic schizophrenics were divided into two groups; the first group were asked to take Taractan for the cure of the disease while the second group were tested with placebo. After two weeks without drugs, all patients were then assessed based on the psychotic reaction profile, clinical assessment rating scale, electroencephalogram, and pathological laboratory tests. After data interpretation, it was claimed that Taractan produces more improvement in chronic schizophrenics than a placebo. |
