Abstract: An interview with Dr. Gerald W. Bracey, author of the book "Reading Educational Research: How to Avoid Getting Statistically Snookered," is presented. When asked about his opposing position on the U.S. No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), he says that no firm data shows that Reading First program under the NCLB is improving reading. He comments on mathematics and science programs in public school curriculum. He also offers thoughts on extending the public school day in the U.S.
