The article offers information on the influx of for-profit assessment providers offering services and tools that promise a more cost effective in the U.S. Prompted in large part by accreditation pressures, campuses are turning to the new providers for aid with a wide range of assessment-related tasks and procedures. Some of the providers offer help in developing student learning outcomes and brings the science of learning to the art of teaching. Some of the providers sell and support software for maintaining, managing and reporting assessment data, while others offer electronic platforms for portfolio assessment data. |
