| Abstract: | The article presents the author's insights regarding various economic models. It states that financial regulators are not equipped with tools that are essential in the prediction and prevention of economic meltdowns. It mentions that financial analysts and economists are only armed with statistical measures of standard econometrics. It notes that some economists have collaborated with physicist in exploring the "agent-based" models which makes minimal assumption on human behaviour and inherent market stability. The author cites that more scientists are insisting that the financial industry needs an agent-based computer models which could detect unexpected risks and threats in the economy. |
