Abstract: The article focuses on six genome-wide association studies (GWAS) that completed the bipolar disorder (BD) in the U.S. It states that the goal of the studies are to replicate the highest ranking imputed from the studies of Wellcome Trust Care Control Consortium (WTCCC). It also mentions that the GWAS for BD have identified new susceptibility genes that might have an effect on the brain functions affected in BD.
