Abstract:	The article discusses the features of informational text that struggling readers find challenging while offering examples of rereading that teachers can model and guide to strengthen students' reading comprehension skills. It is suggested that rereading may help students with comprehension problems when using texts in science or social studies as a fix-up strategy. Several obstacles for struggling readers, including recognizing that the purpose of reading is to make meaning, are explored. Specific text features for rereading in a sixth grade astronomy lesson including main idea placement, definitions after and preceding key terms, and cloze and maze sentences are given.
