| Abstract: | The article presents authors' comments on a study of P. M. Johnson and P. J. Kenny related to determine the addictive nature of sugar in rats by giving access to high-fat high-sugar food, which was published in the 2010 issue of the journal. The results of the study indicate behavioral and neurophysiological changes in rats that are similar to those caused by drugs of abuse. Further, it states that however, parallels between drug and food addiction should be drawn with caution. |
